Each programme varies slightly, they could offer insight days, work experience opportunities, training packages, workshops & most importantly, jobs. Amazon Military Re:start Programme.
A career change to a civilian role at Amazon is a natural transition due to the robust programmes that Amazon offer, particularly as they have an internal network of veterans providing mentoring & support.
DHL Opportunities for Ex-Forces.
DHL is proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant which shows their commitment to those who serve. Their commitment means that they will actively seek to find the right position for the right person. They’re Armed Forces friendly and understand that the experience you have gained and honed within the Forces is what sets you up for an exciting future within their organisation.
Skanska Ex-Armed Forces Recruitment.
Skanska will support you through your transition to civilian life, while helping you to build a structured career path. They welcome applications from ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen and other former military personnel, offering tailored support where needed as part of the transition to a new working environment.
KPMG Military Leavers Programme.
KPMG’s Military Recruitment Programme offers Armed Forces service leavers the opportunity to undertake a six month fully paid contract with additional support from there expansive in house veteran community.

Project Recce has a simple mission: to become the number one organisation in the UK for veterans wishing to enter employment in the construction industry. In partnership with The Royal Foundation and The Armed Forces Covenant Fund, they’re developing a pathway for veterans, regardless of previous experience, to acquire suitable skills in preparation for a career in the civilian construction industry.
NHS - Step Into Health.
Step into Health support the Armed Forces community to access the career opportunities available in the NHS and is made up of NHS organisations which have pledged their support to the programme.
Through Step into Health, members of the Armed Forces community can connect to NHS organisations to set up training opportunities, clinical and general work placements, insight days and receive application support.
The programme provides a dedicated pathway into a career in the NHS and is open to all service leavers, reservists, veterans, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers and their families.
BT Transition Force.
Transition Force is a BT Group-wide external mentoring programme that supports armed forces leavers, veterans and their families in their transition to civilian employment.
The programme was first set up in 2010 by BT’s Chairman to achieve a positive employment outcome for everyone by providing support through; interview techniques, CV writing, and by also highlighting the current career opportunities within BT and Openreach.
They provide an insight into each part of the business and the current job market.
Barclays After Programme.
Military & Veterans Outreach is Barclays’ interface with all facets of our Armed Forces Communities, creating opportunities to rise for serving personnel, veterans, reservists and the wider military family.
JP Morgan Military Transition Programme.
Pursue your post-military career with a company that aligns with your values – determination, dedication and service. You’ll have opportunities to put your skills to work and immediately make a difference in one of their many areas of operations. They’ll help you build your product & industry knowledge whilst gaining real-world experience, helping you take your career in any direction.
Zurich Military Transitions.
Zurich recognise the unique skills and talents that Armed Forces service leavers can offer a business. They already employ a high number of ex-service personnel in a range of roles from Inspection Engineers, to Project Managers. To assist personnel transitioning from the military, Zurich has established a bespoke programme.
FDM Ex-Forces Careers Programme.
There are two programmes:
The Military Mountie Pathway is Designed for junior ex-forces personnel. You’ll be provided with the opportunity to start your career in tech.
The Advanced Course is designed for those with service leavers with leadership and management experience. You’ll gain industry-recognised qualifications preparing you for a senior role in project management, risk management or stakeholder management.
TechVets is a non-profit that exists as a bridge for veterans and service leavers into Cyber Security and Technology careers. They want to alleviate the issue of unemployment and underemployment in the veteran community by ensuring all veterans and service leavers can combine their military experience with their new leading digital skills to gain sustainable careers in technology.
Persimmon Combat to Construction.
The Persimmon Group offer you the opportunity to put your military skills and experience to good use as you develop your civilian career. Whether you already have skills or if you’re looking for the opportunity to retrain, They’re confident that they will have an opening for you.
If you don’t have the skills they require, their Combat to Construction Traineeship could provide the ideal route to re-train into a rewarding second career within the house building industry.
They have also committed to paying you a living wage during your training period.
Deloite Transition & Talent Programme.
Deloite state that if you’ve spent time in the Armed Forces, the chances are that the mindset and skills you’ve developed are those that are also highly prized by civilian businesses and organisations, including theirs.
Network Rail Armed Forces into Rail.
Network Rail are committed to helping Ex-Forces peronnel reintegrate into successful civilian careers whilst already supporting their already established Reservist community. They admire so many of the attributes that someone from the Forces can bring to any role and it’s these qualities, which are essential in the military, are also highly sought after within their safety critical environment that is Network Rail.
Fujitsu Military Transition and Talent Programme.
The Military Transition and Talent Programme (MTTP) is an innovative initiative aimed at increasing the support offered to high-calibre individuals transitioning from military to industry employment through a two-year fixed-term contract within a supported project management role.
Armed Forces Transition Programme.
You’ll work on-site and through your programme to gain all the technical skills and industry knowledge you need to help run a site. You’ll learn your trade on-site, working through a range of development modules that cover everything from foundations to customer demonstrations. This will be complemented by group and online learning where you’ll understand best practice and master the regulation and construction knowledge you’ll need to become an assistant site manager.
Veterans Into Logistics.
Veterans Into Logistics provide training, support and employment opportunities for ex-military personnel and families who are finding it difficult to find meaningful employment.
This includes veterans who are long-term unemployed, homeless or veterans exiting custody, also, those seeking a new career.
Highways England Armed Forces Programme.
The Highways England Armed Forces programme provides a supportive route into your civilian career.
They appreciate the unique set of skills and expertise you can bring to Their work, and will work with you so you can make an immediate contribution.
Their application process is simple and by joining their Armed Forces programme you will get:
- Support from a buddy who has also been in the Armed Forces.
- A supportive manager who will help you adjust to civilian work.
- The opportunity to join our established and active Armed Forces network.
